Fort Worth Employees CIO leaves pension fund – Pensions & Investments






































































<br /> Joelle Mevi, executive director and chief investment officer of the Fort Worth Employees’ Retirement Fund, has left the pension fund.Margarida Correia<br /> <br /> <b>Joelle Mevi</b>, executive director and chief investment officer of the $2.2 billion Fort Worth (Texas) Employees’ Retirement Fund, has left the pension fund, according to an announcement from the fund’s board of trustees.</p> <p>Ms. Mevi managed and oversaw the pension fund’s investment portfolio and benefit programs since March 2014.</p> <p>A spokeswoman for the pension fund declined to comment on the reason for Ms. Mevi’s departure.</p> <p>“We thank Joelle for her service to our members and to the city of Fort Worth,” board Chairman Todd Cox said in a news release. “We wish her well in future professional and personal endeavors.”</p> <p>The board appointed its general counsel, <b>Benita Falls Harper</b>, as interim executive director and has no plans to conduct a search for a new executive director in the near term, Mr. Cox said a statement. Ms. Harper has served as general counsel since July 2017.</p> <p>The pension fund also retained a consultant to provide a governance and operational review of investment operations, including an assessment of the pension fund’s investment structure. The consultant, which the board declined to disclose, will determine whether the fund will hire a new CIO, the spokeswoman said. </p> <p>
