Orange County, Calif., is searching for a bundled provider for three 457 plans, two 401(a) plans and a frozen 3121 plan for temporary employees, said Susie Kim, project manager for the county’s human resources department, in an email.
The county has issued an RFP due to county requirements that services must be put up for bid every five years, Ms. Kim said. Current provider Empower Retirement is invited to rebid.
The plans have a combined $1.6 billion in assets. The vast majority, $1.549 billion, is held in one primary 457 plan..
The RFP is available on the BidSync procurement website. Registration is required. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. PST on Jan. 22. Finalist presentations are tentatively scheduled for Feb. 27-28. A timeline for a decision has yet to be determined.
