Singapore’s central bank will invest $5 billion with private equity and venture capital funds based in the country, one of its senior officials announced on November 13.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore will invest the money with funds moving to the city-state or increasing their presence there, Peter Ong told an audience in Singapore’s state-sponsored fintech festival. Ong is a member of the MAS’s board.
