Risk management worsened in 2018 at large EU banks – ECB

The average quality of governance and risk management at the larger banks in the European Union was worse in 2018 than in the previous year, the European Central Bank’s supervisory mechanism said.

The ECB published the results of its 2018 supervisory review and evaluation process, or Srep, today (April 8). It said that the overall outcome of the process “showed that banks’ governance and risk management worsened from the previous Srep cycle”.
