Violence in Myanmar could hamper growth – World Bank



Myanmar: escalating violence in the north of the country since 2017

Continuous internal conflict is challenging Myanmar’s long-term economic prospects, according to an official from the World Bank.

Gevorg Sargsyan, the World Bank’s acting country director for Myanmar, said that despite strong growth over the past three years, instability in the country was harming investor sentiment.
