Judges in Cyprus have ended the trial of a former central bank governor who was earlier convicted of tax evasion.
Prosecutors had brought charges of corruption, money laundering and abuse of office against Christodoulos Christodoulou and five others, including his daughter. The charges related to a payment of €1 million ($1.1 million) made in 2007 by a Greek businessmen to Christodoulou, who was then Central Bank of Cyprus governor.
Judges announced on July 31 that they were ending the trial
