The number of coins minted for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand last year breached 120 million for the first time since 2006, according to new data from the central bank.

In 2019, 124.7 million coins were minted for the central bank, with a face value of NZ$597,900 (US$403,500). New Zealand’s NZ$1 and NZ$2 coins are minted by the Royal Mint in the UK. The 10 cent, 20 cent and 50 cent coins are minted by the Royal Canadian Mint.
