Lawmakers in Malta confirmed Edward Scicluna as the country’s next central bank governor, despite opposition politicians accusing him of serious misconduct.
The Maltese parliament’s public appointments committee voted by four to three to confirm Scicluna as the next Central Bank of Malta governor today (December 14). All four committee members from the Labour Party voted to confirm Scicluna, who until a few weeks ago was a senior politician in that party, media outlet Malta Today reported.
